Ohio Sales Tax by City (2026)
Combined rates for 62 Ohio cities. Rates run from 6.50% to 8.00%.
Ohio has no city-level sales tax. Unlike states such as Colorado or Alabama, an Ohio municipality cannot levy its own sales tax — the only two components are the 5.75% state base and the county-and-transit portion added by one of Ohio's 88 counties. That is why every city in the table below shows the rate of the county it sits in, and why two neighbouring suburbs can charge different rates only when the county line runs between them.
The practical consequence: to find a city's rate you look up its county. Cities that straddle a county line (Ohio has several) can have two rates depending on which side of the line the address falls, which is what Ohio's rate-by-address lookup is for.
